A Passion for Service

I love helping people!

Seriously.

A person’s smile is the first thing anyone notices; it breaks my heart to see someone cover their smile when they laugh. I want people to walk into a room and be able to smile from ear to ear and feel confident.

Being able to give someone that confidence, to get someone out of pain, to educate and motivate people to care for their oral health — these opportunities are the best!

I especially love when I can change a person’s perspective on dentistry. That makes me feel I have done my job here on earth. I absolutely love when a patient tells me that I’ve helped them cope with their fear of being at the dentist.

At the same time, I appreciate the connections and friendships that grow with those I serve. I love hearing everyone’s stories. I love each person’s perspectives and how their experiences and insights broaden my world.

Those conversations also give me insight into how best to help the person and a deeper understanding of their needs. I’m at my happiest when my patient and I come together to identify and then reach a common goal, to create a beautiful smile and maintain a lifetime of healthy teeth!

Education and Experience

I chose to join the oral healthcare field because my mission in life has always been to give back and help people, both individually and in the community. When I realized I could combine that drive to help others with my obsession with teeth, I knew I’d found my calling.

I attended Seattle University, where I received a Bachelor of Science in general science. Dental school came next and I obtained my Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Marquette University School of Dentistry.

Since entering private practice, my passion to help others, while building real connections with people and within the community, has only grown.

I took an oath to take care of my patients and strive to do that every single day, with every single person I have the opportunity to care for.

Professional Affiliations, Continuing Education, and Activities

I am an active member of the:

  • American Dental Association
  • Wisconsin Dental Association
  • Shawano County Dental Society

These organizations offer numerous avenues to further my growth and knowledge as a dentist. I attend continuing education gatherings all over the United States, to ensure I am at the forefront of the latest developments and research. This constant learning helps me provide the best quality of care possible.

In addition to my own continuing education, I mentor students at Marquette University School of Dentistry through the Wisconsin Dental Association. I also volunteer at local schools: teaching oral hygiene and motivating children to take good care of their growing smiles.

Away from the Office

If I’m not helping people with their dental health, I’m most often found with my family: husband Andrew, our little boy Caden, and our Long-haired Weimaraner, Bauer. We enjoy hiking, camping, and being out on the lake. We also enjoy listening to live bands and exploring new places to eat.
